Living in Florida, most parents want to do an outdoor maternity session at the beach or under the oaks. And while they are beautiful, there is something equally as beautiful and special about studio maternity sessions. In fact, a lot of times I prefer them.
One of the reasons I love studio maternity sessions so much (aside from the a/c and lack of rain) is having the ability to let expecting mommas wear multiple looks for their session. Yes, you can do this outside, but it’s a lot easier in the studio!
It’s as simple as walking into the wardrobe room and choosing what speaks to you and your vision for your session. I have invested so much time and effort in to curating the perfect bump and postpartum-friendly dresses, so you can simply show up and trust that my team and I have you covered. Literally.
This beautiful momma chose four different dresses for her maternity photos and looked stunning in each of them. Everything from soft and flowy to elegant and lastly, a lacey intimate look. Each of the dresses she chose coordinated well with the others, ensuring her final portraits are cohesive. They all turned out absolutely beautiful and she’ll be able to look back at her first pregnancy for years to come.
Another reason I love studio maternity sessions is for the privacy it allows Mom. This may be obvious but it’s something in the planning process that a lot of people don’t think about. For some women, pregnancy is extremely vulnerable and personal, so having that space to really be yourself and wear what you want is really important.
I say this often, but it’s truly an honor to not only be welcomed into such a special season in your life but to be your family’s photographer. Every pregnancy is so special, but you only get to experience your first pregnancy one time. Celebrate it and document every moment so you can relive these moments over and over!
If you’re interested in a studio maternity session, contact me! We are already booking well into 2022 and I would love to document this season for you. It goes by too fast Momma and I never want you to have to forget it!
