While I was away traveling out of state – I happened to be in a gift a shop that sells Erin’s amazing candles Seventh Avenue Apothecary, seeing their gorgeous hand poured wax candles that smell absolutely divine jogged my memory that I need to call her! I could tell she was so anxious to meet these babies as she told me all about their room.
I was so excited to meet this pair! They are just the cutest little things with one very special set of parents and puppy named Popito!
The nursery is neutral black and white with gold accents. The focal piece in the nursery is a painting that belonged to Ken’s parents for many years. It’s abstract and beautiful with an array of colors and hangs above the cribs. Also another unique pieces was a sign that they had custom made with a sweet little poem “never forget who you are little star”. These two personal and unique pieces mirror each other in the room, creating the focal points for each wall.
When I arrived to their South Tampa home I asked Erin to show me what special elements she wanted to incorporate into the session! She pointed out two hand stitched art pieces that where on wall of her room as a child. Also resting on top a stock of bedtime stories are a pair a shoes worn by Erin as a little girl. She also showed me the boot spur that was her fathers and of corse the mascot toy, one of Kens favorite hockey team. So many precious details tucked amongst the personal photographs I was seriously in love with how homey and thought out this space was! And I couldn’t help but adore their first photo together on the inside (an ultra sound picture) and their first photo together on the outside (in the delivery room) framed with the sweet words “born together”.
Popito AKA “Popi” was quite jealous as Erin warned me in our contacts leading up to her session. A bit jealous, but so sweet and gentle. He made sure to not loose focus on his mommy! Keeping close by and making himself cozy for the session. Already rocking his new role as BIG BROTHER.
I have to say my favorite thing about daddy & baby shots is seeing just how tiny they are next to all that muscle and strength. It really gives you perspective as to just how little they really are!
I always like to ask parents how they decided on a name. It’s a huge decision and I absolutely adore these two choices. Erin explained how they wanted something unique and that Levi is a Hebrew name meaning “together” which they felt was great for twins and loved the idea of giving her a name that was different. Cruz meaning “cross” has always been a name they loved and it is also Erin’s mothers maiden name. Maddux means “fortunate” which explains how they feel about the 2 blessings they have been given. Lewin is Ken’s middle name and spans 4 generations in his family. Levi Cruz and Maddux Lewin – unique, meaningful, with family tradition- perfection!
Levi and Maddux are really the perfect babies. After spending the day with them and their sweet mommy and daddy I felt so at home and didn’t want to leave. I can’t wait to see these two when they can laugh and giggle with each other. 🙂 But for now I will just get to enjoy the smells of my amazing candle they gave me.
