A Natural Newborn Studio Session | Baby Shaan

Every time I see a parent snuggling their newborn in close to their chest, it brings back the sweetest memories all over again. Oh, how I could snuggle with my own little ones for hours on end when they were newborns.

For each newborn + family shoot I do, it makes my heart so happy to watch parents experience those truly magical moments. Although that time period feels long when you’re in it, it seems like just a tiny point in time when you look back. I’ll think to myself, “I remember when that little hand could barely wrap around my thumb!”

Capturing these precious moments is so very important. That’s why I became a photographer in the first place. I watched the most amazing moments happen between parents and their babies as a NICU nurse. I decided I wanted to help them preserve the memories of those first few weeks and months forever. What a joy it is to keep up with their milestones and transformation into childhood – and beyond! – through photography. 

Baby Shaan Krishen Patel was born on June 23, 2019 to Sabrina and Krishen. This handsome little man was absolutely perfect, and I just could not stop smiling as I photographed that sweet face of his. After seeing his mom’s gorgeous hair, it’s no surprise that he was born with thick, dark hair as well, which made him all the more adorable. I love the way it perfectly framed his newborn features. 

According to mom, right now Shaan’s favorite thing is eating. And since he’s a boy, I told her that may not change for a while! The family dogs love having a little brother. I’m sure he’s going to love tumbling around with them as he gets older! What an incredible family session – I’m so happy for them!
