I can’t help but become giddy when I get opportunities to capture memories for beautiful families like this one. Look at that smile on the littlest Collavo face!! I’ll be the first to admit, I go gaga for baby giggles! Their adorable squeals and coos of laughter remind me of working in the church nursery, far before photography was a reality for me.

Hesitant new moms would come in and drop off their bundles of joy (some were not always so joyful). It never ceased to amaze me how these little humans were able to make even the biggest of issues from the previous week simply dissipate with one little coo from their tiny perfect lips.

It brought me such joy to care for these babes, even just for an hour, once a week. We would watch them grow and rapidly change. They would go from sleepy newborns, to curious and alert little ones. We watched them learn to smile and laugh, giggle and squeal. But let me tell you, when they learned what these new magical things called toes were…It changed the game!!….Oh boy they must have been yummy!

I think this is part of the reason I love photography. I love to watch things grow and change. When the next Collavo makes their big debut, I want to be there to witness the growth of this amazing family. I want to watch their hearts and love expand and change. But I also want to be here to remind them of today, of this perfect day with their little man and his giggles in the sand.
