I recently shared the big sister gifts I purchased Scarlett in the weeks leading up to Chloe’s arrival and had a lot of requests to share more details.
The last few months before Chloe made her arrival, I was feeling all the emotions. There was a big part of me that knew that our family dynamic was about to change in a big way. With that, also came this overwhelming need to soak up every moment I could with two older children. I was very intentional about our family time and also spending one on one time with each of them, especially Scarlett. She’s been our baby for the last few years and I knew her entire world was about to change.
Luckily, Scarlett has reached the age where she loves baby dolls. This has made explaining a new baby would be joining our family a little easier. She also loves to do whatever Mom is doing, so I knew getting her a little stroller and baby bed for her baby would be perfect.
Little did we know how much this little setup would help Scarlett the first two weeks. Because we couldn’t be together when Chloe came home (thanks RSV!), I really think this baby doll helped Scarlett feel included without coming near us. Every time I changed Chloe’s diaper or fed her, Scarlett would come over to the doorway where the baby gate is and change her own baby’s diaper. It was seriously the cutest thing!
Each of these gifts has been worth every single penny. We snagged the pram and crib on super sale but also got her the diaper bag which we gave to her after Chloé was born. If you’re searching for big sister gifts, I HIGHLY recommend it!
As fun as the baby stuff was, I also really wanted to gift Scarlett her first piece of jewelry. And again, because she likes to be like Mom, this little matching “Mama” and “Sis” necklace from Made by Mary was perfect.
I hope that I never forget her adorable reaction when she received her big sister gifts. She’s in this sweet phase where she gasps, clasps her little hands together, and says, “Thank you so much Ma!”
