There are events in our lives that force us to stop, breathe, and take stock of the blessings that have been showered down upon us. Your wedding, the birth of your first, and if you’re lucky (as these two beautiful souls are) you get to see your little become a big. Sibling-hood gives way to a rare opportunity to create a bond, when accompanied with true friendship, thicker than even blood.

From experience, I can wholeheartedly attest to the fact that sibling-hood has the chance to be one of the biggest blessings ever experienced. Backyard hide-and-seek turns into late night giggles. Late night giggles into secret crushes. Crushes to heart breaks and heart breaks to Beyoncé. Eventually that relationship will morph into holiday visits, cousins, and phone “gab” sessions. But it will always remain a fierce connection to be reckoned with. This beautiful opportunity these two have is why I cherish capturing these quick, fleeting moments. If not for the excitedly-expectant mommies and daddies, then for the future bigs and littles and the sacred connection they will share.

Take one look at those puppy-dog eyes and you will quickly understand why blue was a perfect color for this beautiful mother to wear. The soon to be big-sis was dressed in a darling ivory dress, perfect for this outdoor setting. We did a quick outfit change on mom and she was instantly morphed into a woodland goddess, draped in a blush wrap-around dress accompanied by a custom floral head-piece.

I am so excited for this family and what the future holds for their journey. I am honored they picked me to document this beautiful moment in what is bound to be a wonderful life.
