I met this couple when I photographed big brother, Luke, for his newborn photography session. This time, they wanted me to shoot a maternity session with Mom pregnant with little brother, Jake. They’re building a gallery wall in their home, and they wanted to add to their collection. I couldn’t wait to see this family again and see how much Luke had grown. 

They wanted their session to be outdoors with the sunset. I just love sunset sessions because the lighting is absolutely perfect! We picked a field that boasted lovely foliage such as one of the most beautiful willow trees I’ve ever seen. So we, of course, used that as the background for a majority of our pictures. The white buds on the tree added such a gorgeous, natural detail. I was astounded by how beautifully it popped in the background. Mom’s white lace dress and light blue gown were both such lovely wardrobe choices. Big Brother Luke’s suspenders were such a charming choice as well. And I can’t get over his rolled up pants and bare feet. He looks like a modern day Huckleberry Finn!

I love the pictures of Mom and Dad with Luke sitting on the small ladder. What a cute little element that allowed for such an endearing photo of Luke listening to baby brother Jake in Mom’s tummy. Luke’s smile is so big in the picture of him holding Mom’s hand. I loved that I didn’t have to pose Dad with Luke. I was able to capture such charming pictures of them just playing together. Whether it was Luke making funny faces or Dad throwing him in the air, these candids were absolutely perfect!

I can’t wait to see this growing family again to shoot Baby Jake’s newborn photographs to add even more to their photo gallery!
