Six months doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but in that short amount of time, your baby will change so much. No matter how long I do this, it still baffles me how much these babies change from the day I first meet them at their newborn session to their milestone sessions throughout their first year.
It’s a bittersweet reality, but all the more reason to make sure you document it. I don’t tell you that because I am a Tampa newborn photographer, but because I am a Momma too. I see it in my own children. As their Mom, I want to do everything in my power to not only be able to remember all the little details of their first year but make sure they have them to look back on too.
I have the unique opportunity (and honor) of witnessing it here in the studio daily. From newborn to six months to one year…these babies literally grow up in front of my lens. It feels like we were just photographing Juliana’s newborn session in my Tampa studio. Now, she is back to celebrate turning six months old and what we like to call the “sitter” milestone.
This is one of my absolute favorite milestones to photograph. Around this time babies really start to take in their surroundings and begin interacting with their siblings and parents. They love to play with their toes, push up on their arms and sit up to show us all just how much they have grown in six months.
This six-month session can be a quick simplicity session in the studio with baby only. Or, you can do a classic session and have your family join. I love both for different reasons, but when you have other children, it can be really fun to not only watch your baby grow but see the relationship between them and their big brother and sister grow too. Not to mention, you can never have enough family portraits, Mom and Dad!
