Where to begin with this family. So much love…so much respect…and so much appreciation for the sacrifices they have made. Mike and Katie met through a mutual friend years ago and haven’t looked back since. As their Tampa Military Newborn Photographer, I love hearing about how the couples that I get the opportunity to photograph met, and theirs is one for the books. While they met in Florida, they actually both grew up in Bethesda, Maryland! Over they years the often joke about how they had been orbiting around each other for a long time, just waiting for the right moment to meet. They are more than spouses, more than parents together…they are best friends.

About this family

Jonathan Sawyer Nicholson was born February 28th, weighing in at a whopping 8 lbs 8oz. While formally name Jonathan after Mike’s father and grandfather, they call him by his sweet middle name, Sawyer. After multiple name brainstorming sessions, their daughter, Callie, threw out this sweet title, and after seeing his face for the first time on the 4D sonogram, they knew it was a perfect match!

Speaking of Callie, after I asked her mama how she was adjusting to the big-sister-life, she answered, “Callie adjusted wonderfully! She wakes up excited every day to spend time with him and always wants to help.” Throughout the entire session, she was constantly kissing his sweet head, tickling him and showering him with endless love. It was such a treat to see the love she has for her little brother.

I will never forget this precious newborn session. Katie is so obviously immersed in complete adoration of her little man. She says, “every day I thank God for him and my family. Both Mike and I feel that our family feels complete with him.”

My heart and love go with this beautiful family. I have no doubts that with a bond as strong as the love they share, they have a long and beautiful road ahead of them.
