Being a mama is such a wonderful experience. The feeling you get when you find out you are expecting a little one is truly indescribable. It is something that changes your life immediately, and fills your heart with an immense amount of love and emotion. I remember when I was expecting my first child, the anticipation of my sweet baby arriving made the swollen feet and back pain all worth it! Pregnancy is truly a beautiful thing, and I am so blessed to be able to document these moments for some amazing mamas out there!

Waiting in Excited Anticipation

The Puryear family is expecting their first baby boy. When they contacted me to photograph their maternity, I swelled up with excitement! I couldn’t wait to photograph such a special moment in their lives. These soon-to-be parents have a bond that is unbreakable, and what a better way to welcome a child into the world than to be so happy and in love with your spouse! Mama was simply beautiful. She wore a grey gown that hugged her baby bump in such a flattering way. I loved how the top of the dress was flowy, showing the motion of the wind in each photo. Speaking of the wind, the weather outside on this day was very pleasant, not too cold or hot. Let’s face it – being preggo can be incredibly uncomfortable, especially if the weather isn’t just right. We were so blessed to be outside in the gorgeous weather.

As far as their baby boy goes, they do not have a name selected just yet. They have contenders, but chose to wait to name him until he’s born. Although this is not a common tradition, I love how special it will be to match a name to his face when he’s born! Giving their little one a name will be such a special and intimate moment. I hope to see this little one after he is born. What an amazing journey the Puryear’s have ahead of them.
