Tampa Natural Light Photo Studio in South Tampa | Our Grand Opening

To say that my heart was filled to the brink with the overwhelming pour of love I received at our grand opening this past weekend would be a vast understatement. I was shocked at how many of my past and future clients made their way out to the event. What an absolutely beautiful gesture of support and faith in me and my work. Their presence and sweet words have forever left such a profound mark on my heart. I even had a celebrity guest appearance from the sweet twins from my live feed a few weeks back. People would literally walk in and say, “Oh my gosh! Are these the two from the feed?!” How funny! I have be so fortunate over the years to get to know and love on so many of my client’s littles, so one of the best things about having them visit with me, was the opportunity for them to meet my son. Needless to say, the grand opening of our brand new Tampa Natural Light Photo Studio in South Tampa was a day I won’t soon forget.

The space itself has made such a massive transformation. It’s gone from a quaint, simple space; to my own artistic haven, bursting with creative potential. It really does make my heart race just thinking about what beauty will take place within this studio’s walls. I feel as though this space, in a way, mirrors my own transformation. About the Grand Opening:

I was so excited about the various favors that were handed out to my beautiful clients throughout the day. The owner of Sugar Bomb Macaroons is a client of mine, who’s twins I actually cared for in the NICU, back in my days as a intensive care unit nurse at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. So yummy! I also keep my fridge stocked with fresh macaroons whenever mommy-to-bes come by for a tour or to try on gowns so they always leave with a yummy treat.

I ordered some adorable crayons in the shape of camera from an Etsy (once upon a crayon) shop for the kiddos, what a big hit! But really, what kid doesn’t love coloring?!

I had my friend Dulcinea with Silly Monkey Cookie Company make some darling cookies made to look like my beloved Canon 5D Mark III. Check out her website if you want to see some absolutely stunning confectionery works of art! We are both members of the Junior League of Tampa, and I love supporting fellow League members as they have done for me in the past. Us small businesses have to stick together! Right?! The yummy mimosas and sweet doughnuts were from the absolutely amazing Mini Doughnut Factory here in Tampa. If you’re local to the area and haven’t yet visited this haven of sweet delight…go! Seriously. Go!

One of my favorite parts of the day was getting to work with the non-profit organization The Little Book Bus. This is a wonderful organization with the goal of providing every child in low-income areas of Tampa with new or gently used books to read. As a child photographer and mother, this message hit home in a deep way. I immediately knew I wanted to work with this amazing group. At the grand opening, I entered every attendee who brought a book to donate to this cause, into a raffle to win a free session. At the end of the day, we were able to donate 165 books that will make their way back to the community and into the hands of children who genuinely need them. What could be more beautiful than giving a child the opportunity to learn, imagine and grow through the power of reading?

At the end of the day, I closed up my new shop, with a smile on my face and a heart full of love. To everyone who made it out to celebrate this exciting new chapter of my life and career, thank you. From the bottom of my heart. You are all so deeply loved and greatly appreciated. <3
