There are so many moments from this baby girl’s newborn session in my Tampa photography studio that I never want this Mom and Dad to forget. Their photos turned out so beautiful, but the truth is, they are so much more than that. These photos document one of the most important chapters in their life and the start of their daughter’s life. Not only will they be able to look back on these photos and feel the joy they felt as they became parents for the first time, but also share with their daughter. That’s special.
But there are also moments that I know without a doubt are must-have photos. They are the ones that are defining moments as new parents. Like, the feeling of having your child curled up on your chest. It’s one that no one can prepare you for and one that you want to hold onto for as long as you can. As a NICU nurse, it was one of those moments that parents longed for as we cared for their babies. It’s one of the best feelings in the world and if I can help freeze that for parents in a photograph, I will every chance I get.
I’m so thankful that Carli and Mark trusted me to document these moments for them. I first connected with Carli on Instagram after a friend and fellow photographer, Danette, shared about her experience with Carli (she’s an amazing cosmetic nurse practitioner). It’s been such an honor getting to witness her step into her new role as a mother!
Mila is just as sweet as Mom and Dad. She slept for the majority of her newborn session, has a headful of dark hair, and the sweetest little lips. Her little feet fit perfectly in Dad’s hands and she loved to snuggle.
I’m so excited to document Mila grow throughout her first year! We’ve already started designing a gallery wall for their new home. The design is one of my favorites, using the Catie frame (also a favorite). Once complete, I’ll share the end result, so be sure to follow along!
