Just like that, three months have passed, and it’s time for this sweet girls 3 month simplicity milestone session in the studio! Harper is a part of our First Year Collective and with that we’re doing three signature sessions and two simplicity sessions. By the time she turns one, we will have documented her newborn session, 3, 6, and 9 months, and first birthday.

Some parents and even some of the photographers I coach are surprised when families do that many sessions. This combination of sessions honestly my favorite and what I have done with each of my children. I love having a mix of family and baby only session. And although three months in between doesn’t seem like a long time, babies change SO much in that amount of time.

Photographing Your Three Month Old

Three month sessions can be a bit of a challenge to photograph. However, in my opinion, it’s one of the sessions where we can see the most amount of change. Your baby goes from being completely dependent on you to being able to do a little on their own. They may be able to hold their head up, interact with you, and if we’re lucky, even give us a few intentional smiles.

Parents, don’t skip out on this one! 

At this age, it’s all about documenting the milestones the baby right in front of you is experiencing. For some that’s tummy time and holding their head up. Other’s will lay on their back. And for some, you’ll get a mix, which is exactly what Miss Harper gave me.

From start to finish, Harper was all smiles and loved to show off her beautiful blue eyes and little bum! I love getting a mix of baby bare (peep those baby rolls!), with a blanket, and then in an outfit. Mom chose a little white onesie and then the sweetest little romper for Harper. Both coordinate well with their neutral color palate from their newborn session.
