How Rachel H. Doubled Her Income and Opened Studio

One of the things that give me great pride in life is to keep in touch with my Leveraging to Luxury student alumni and see how they are doing. Rachel from 47 Moments is one of those students that always gives me great joy to chat with. Rachel was in my 2021 class and was able to double her revenue from 2021 to 2022! All while also taking the leap to open her own studio! Below are some questions I asked her about her time before, during, and after taking LTL.

What made you decide to take LTL?

“I was transitioning out of wedding photography and wanted to have a profitable portrait photography business. I was feeling stuck and knew I needed a successful coach to teach me how to run my business differently and hold me accountable. I needed someone who could tell me exactly where my business needed improvement and how to do it. While on a consult call with Brittany, she told me there was no greater investment I could make in my business than by receiving an education. You can have the best gear and look really nice on the outside, but if the inner workings of your business are not effective it won’t succeed. Her confidence and ability to articulate exactly how she would help me if I took her course made me realize I had to be a part of LTL.”

What made you decide to make the transition into in-person sales?

“I desired to have a profitable business that filled me with joy and excitement. I heard other photographers speak highly of in-person sales and that they would never go back to just offering digitals. I was ready for a change and wanted to offer more to my clients.”

How did you feel before taking the program? Did you have concerns or hesitations before the program began?

‘My biggest fear was thinking clients wouldn’t book if I increased my pricing or want to invest in high-end artwork.”

How did you feel about your pricing before LTL?

“Clients were looking for discounts and I always felt obligated to give them a deal.”

What were the changes you wanted to make in your business throughout LTL?

“Through LTL I wanted to create a strong brand with a clear message. I wished to find my ideal client and share with them how my business could solve their problem and serve them well. I also needed to become confident in selling products and services without coming across ‘salesy’.”

How did you feel after LTL?

“LTL gave me a fresh mindset and the confidence to offer my clients a luxury service from start to finish. During the course, I implemented everything Brittany taught, that way I could ask questions and get her immediate feedback. This helped me feel equipped and ready to continue the process after the course ended. My LTL group communicates on a daily basis, so I still have the support I need. My business has completely changed for the better and I’m thrilled.”

What gave you the confidence to open your studio?

“I could see the LTL business model working! I gained confidence when I began receiving consistent bookings from clients who were paying my new pricing and eager to buy products. This helped me save enough to get a studio started. The studio has attracted even more clients by giving me the ability to showcase products and have a conversation in-person about what is possible for their images. Prior to LTL, I believed you had to have all of your ducks in a row before you could start. Now I know that’s not always the case. Sometimes you just need to start with what you have. You will learn, grow and make improvements along the way. It’s important to let others inspire you, but be patient to go at your own pace. In your time you will get there!”

How long after did LTL pay for itself?

“During the program I booked my first client at my new pricing and it covered the LTL investment.”

What is something that Brittany did during the course that you really appreciated?

“Brittany didn’t hold back any information. She was completely transparent with how she ran her business, incredibly patient answering ALL of our questions and gave us her undivided attention. She always focused on the positives and was intentional about creating an uplifting environment to help you feel confident and able to do anything.”
