I am so excited to share this studio milestone session for six month old baby girl, Lincoln. I always love photographing the McCall family. Our first session together was celebrating their pregnancy with the most beautiful sunset maternity session and then their newborn session (with family dog, Charlee!) just six short months ago. Now, they are back in the studio to celebrate Lincoln turning six months old. She is an absolute doll and so sweet in her bonnet and pearl bracelet.

Six Month “Sitter Session”

The six month milestone session, also known as the “sitter” session, is my absolute favorite to photograph. If they are sitting, we document that. If they aren’t that’s okay too. We’ll get them on their bellies pushing up, on their back, and rolling around if they are rolling already. At this age they love to play with their toes and their favorite toy is probably their hand. It’s all the little things that make these age so special and also the very same things you never want to forget…and we’ll make sure you don’t have to!

This session can be baby only or include family too. I always recommend including family for this session if your able. At six months, some babies start to have a bit of stranger danger and also if they aren’t quite steady, you’re there to support them. It’s also really fun to see your interaction and connection as a family.

Breastfeeding Photos

If you’re a nursing Momma, I recommend breastfeeding photos too. A lot of mommas don’t think they will “need” a breastfeeding photo someday, but I disagree. It’s why I always ask to photograph these moments when they happen. Even if you think you won’t “need” this moment remembered, let someone photograph it for you. There may come a day when you want it and you won’t be able to go back.

Sweet Lincoln and her Momma will always have these moments. They are some of my absolute favorite images from their session. So tender and sweet and really shows the bond they share. Trust me Momma, you won’t regret it.

Just like the last six months, the next will go just as fast, if not faster. I cannot wait to celebrate Lincoln’s first birthday!
