Ah, senior portraits get me every time. As a parent of little ones, I can’t but look at these almost-grown young adults through a mother’s eyes. All of a sudden, they aren’t so little anymore, and our babies have transformed in amazing, talented, and beautiful individuals who are capable of taking on the world and achieving their dreams. It’s time to send them out and let them fly. Although I’m not there just yet, I can imagine parents of these remarkable young people feel a little sad that their babies are grown, yet feel even prouder of who they’ve become and excited to see where they’re headed in the next phase of life.

An Extra Special Session

This senior portrait session was especially meaningful to me because this gorgeous girl is also my friend. She has cared for my kids many times over the past couple years, and I can’t believe the time has already come for her to graduate! Her dazzling smile is equally matched by her compassionate heart—she really is one of the kindest people I know. I had so much fun finding picture-perfect sites for her session. As we changed scenes, we had time to chat, and I enjoyed hearing about her plans for the future. I have no doubt she will accomplish whatever she sets her mind to.

I love all of her outfit choices! They fit her personality so well and coordinate with the beachy, sun-kissed theme. She’s already our babysitter, but she could also double as my portrait model! She is so photogenic, and transitioning into the right poses came naturally to her. I can’t help but smile every time I look at these light-filled portraits of my friend. Some of my favorites are the sunflower pictures because I think they reflect her heart and personality so well.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this special young lady!
