The beginning of summer is always filled with so much excitement. They sunny days are long, the kids are out of school, and everyone is ready to play. One of the best places to catch those summer vibes is at the beach. There’s just something both mesmerizing and energizing about the way the waves roll in. Babies love to watch them, and they squeal with laughter as the soft foam tickles their toes. The older kids love trying to jump over them just as quickly as they come. For families looking for a way to get everyone together for photos – with happy faces – I always recommend an easygoing, fun-in-the-sun beach shoot. And once again, the beachy location didn’t disappoint.
Jennifer and her husband Brian enjoy spending time at the beach with their three children, ages 2-6. The time right before sunset is usually the perfect time to go because the lighting is not quite as harsh, and the colorful glow adds the perfect touch of warmth to photos as it softly reflects off of the kiddos faces and hair – my favorite type of lighting. The images look so classic and nostalgic, great for albums and frames.
Their oldest is really coming into his own, and he is such a wonderful big brother to his younger siblings. He looked so handsome and confident standing there smiling with his hands in his pockets. But he’s still not too old for jumping in the waves with his little brother and sister. The younger two played, laughed, and ran without a care in the world. The beach was their playground, and they had a blast exploring with each other.
Right at sunset, while the kids were playing happily in the sand, I pulled Mom and Dad aside for some romantic couple’s photos. The waters calmed down, and the breeze came in softly. It was the perfect evening for some quality family time.
